Reliable Training for a Trusted Weapon.
Since the late 1980s when it was first adopted by the US Army and US Marine Corps, the M136 AT4 has ably served forces as a portable one-shot 84mm unguided rocket anti-tank weapon. The weapon’s simplicity and portability continue to commend it to military combat units. Since 1999, InVeris has provided our customers with the training capability of reusable M136 AT4 simulators.
The M136 AT4 is a lightweight, self-contained, anti-armor weapon that consists of a rocket packed in a launcher. Man-portable, it fires from either shoulder with almost no recoil. Issued as a round of ammunition, it requires only a visual inspection prior to use. The launcher serves as a watertight packing container for the rocket and houses a percussion-type firing mechanism that activates the rocket—a fin-stabilized, fixed-shaped charge round. To fire, the soldier removes the transport safety pin, uncovers front and rear sights, unfolds and charges the cocking lever, adjusts the sights, depresses and holds the safety release catch, and firmly shoulders the weapon to prepare for firing.
We based the new M136 AT4 simulator on an expended tube from a live weapon. The InVeris M136 AT4 Simulator allows repeated training with the same platform. Everything about the M136 AT4 reinforces economy-conscious thinking without neglecting the firepower mission.
