The 2022 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) opens amid the nation’s intense dialog about law enforcement training. From January 18 to 21, attendees will be seeking answers to issues from a spiraling crime rate and force shortages to de-escalation and persons-in-crisis. Meanwhile commercial range businesses will be seeking the best way to train an unprecedented number of newbie gun owners.

The SHOT Show further marks another milestone in Las Vegas’ return to major “live” events, which began in June. Finally, law enforcement officers and range managers will have the first-hand opportunity to explore the latest systems, equipment and ideas in firearms training while networking with their peers. To match that agenda, InVeris is bringing our state-of-the-art simulation and live fire training solutions to the show. With more than 2,400 exhibits, prioritizing what you need to see is essential

The SHOT Show already is the industry’s largest dedicated exhibition for firearms, protective equipment, and tactical accessories to service law enforcement. Yet this year the event is larger than ever, covering 800,000 square feet, expanding from the Venetian Expo into the neighboring Caesars Forum. Nearly one-third of these exhibit halls are dedicated to law enforcement offerings. That’s a lot to see in three days, necessitating prioritizing must-see booths. The SHOT Show debut of an officer-proven VR system: the VR-DT (Virtual Reality – Decisions and Tactics)

Tested by more than 600 law enforcement agencies, the fully immersive VR-DT enhances training for de-escalation, safety tactics, mental health crisis intervention, use of force and regular protocol. The system uniquely draws on our 40-year innovative record with industry-standard FATS® technology. A fully customized laptop allows an instructor to direct the scenarios and engage in through After-Action Reviews (AARs).

• The SafeZone™ Shooting Stallis fully interchangeable and offers the customization to create clear stalls, solid stalls, or a mixture of both. Completely reconfigurable and backward compatible, the new shooting stalls can be set up in the same location as existing stalls.
• The XWT GEN4 wireless target carrier builds on the industry’s first wireless, 360º turning system. The XWT GEN4 uses a lithium-ion battery with a positive locking connection and ergonomic placement. This technology provides a 50% increase in battery watt hours. The new docking system improves contact design for faster, more reliable charging; that means more time using the XWT GEN4 and less time charging it. Programmable distraction lighting now integrates red, blue, and white LEDs with four times the brightness of previous models. The chassis features a new side cover design for wheel overhead protection and prevention of brass drivetrain damage. Anti-static wheels eliminate grounding tinsel and reduce electrostatic discharge.
• Multi-Function Stationary Infantry Target (MF-SIT), which you can try on Industry Day(discussed below) offers a fixed target head configuration that can respond to hits or a pre-programmed scenario, ensuring that the trainees do not anticipate target actions. Thus, the target system provides a realistic environment for urban operations and specialized training. The MF-SIT system is operated through radio frequency, hardwire or Ethernet controls that enable great flexibility in range design and usage.

This year’s Industry Day at the Range will take place at the Boulder Rifle & Pistol Club in Boulder City, Nevada the day before the opening day of SHOT Show, Monday, January 17. Learn how to extend the life of your range with an InVeris class at LEEP

One hour at the SHOT Show can guide you in maintaining your range for years to come. As part of the SHOT Show’s Law Enforcement Education Program (LEEP) presents a curriculum designed to help you learn the right way to extend the life of your range and equipment. On Tuesday, Jan. 18 from 10:45-11:45 a.m., InVeris will present “Shooting Range Maintenance and Best Practices” in Lido Room 3001A of the Venetian Expo.
